For some Historic through to Classic era motorsport.

Sunday the 15th April 2012, 40 minutes from Melbourne.

From Bacchus Marsh go via Korobeit Road, Myrniong and for the (community fund raising) grand sum of $5 per spectator take in the 850metre sprint event.

Information here: http://www.historicwinton.org/Myrniong%20poster.pdf

And map here: http://www.austin7club.org/Myrniong%20map.pdf

Should be a good mix including some 60/70's era tourers.
Look for me in the mighty (?) #40 A7 Monoposto.

Stephen.

Directions: what he said :)

Edit: A very nice day out on a sunny day, not too hot, just right.

Ended up running 4th in Austin 7 class, about 2.5s of the quickest (and much 'newer') A7. Car now showing it's straight line potential with the carburettion and clutch sorted.
These 80 year old cars are not really happy on bumpy roads with gravel covered dodgy repairs as part of the course, I was keeping calm and away from being

A good mix of cars from true vintage through to doubtful inclusion (one of the 'Brock Killer' Daytonas, think that took FTD).
A few class records fell and no real incidents other than a couple of squashed cones and one bonnet coming loose and jumping up in front of the driver.

Some better details.

Head out towards Ballarat on the Western Freeway and take the Pykes Creek Reservior Exit, double back towards Myrniong and you'll see the gathering n your left.

The course is pretty simple and consists of a straight, sweeping right followed by a sweeping left and a straight to the finish.
