Posted - 11 Mar 2012 : 22:06:33 but sadly there was quite a bit of damage over all 3 days... wasn't there Friday but saw pics of a very badly damaged F5000... and another went into the wall on Sat...
3 Mussies damaged with one rolling onto its side... plus a lot of other damage done...
FF rollover on lap 1 of one of their races...
the weather was good all weekend.. don't know if that gave the drivers a bit more confidence to push and that led to it or what?
however i would like to congratulate the organisers on one of the best events i've been to at the island... even with some heavy clean up to do they ran almost to schedule the whole weekend and it was jammed solid... i had no hope of seeing everything they had on offer.
pics to come :) |

Posted - 18 Mar 2012 : 17:58:22 LOL... i had done most of the work and was just finishing some stuff on the laptop while i'm watching the GP... so of course with all of the ch10 dribble i have had plenty of time available...
yeah it was hard seeing the Stangs getting the damage... the first one apparently was result of letting the leaders thru and a wheel on the grass spun him to the wall.. the contact one was avoidable tho i think :(
Thanks :) |

Posted - 18 Mar 2012 : 17:45:34 The GP can't be too interesting this arvo if this is what you're doing (you asked for comments!!)
Don't particularly like the photos of the 'Stang going over because I don't particularly like seeing "old" race cars getting damaged. You were obviously Johnny on the spot for those ones. Did you get the full sequence or just the one you have posted?
Good shot of the Corty at the beach!
Great photos Sonic! |

A Cooper Climax apparently (word of the crash filtered up to those of us at Winton) hit the pit wall on the front straight with the driver Helicoptered to hospital, mind you it's not uncommon for helicopters to be used for even minor injuries at PI.
