This is what you get when you introduce complete parity into a series where everyone is on the same strategy, it's extremely difficult to pass and the quality of the spectacle suffers. They need to introduce super soft tyres and encourage various strategies.

I fail to understand how it would be "easier to pass" without parity. If one car is lighter or has more downforce or less drag or a bigger engine, they'll be half a second faster at the tracks that favour their car.

How do you overtake a car when it's half a lap ahead of you? How is that good racing?

As for everyone being on the same pit strategy, that's because there's no tyre degradation and everyone has to take on exactly the same amount of fuel per race. I'm with you on that, it's an issue that must be fixed. The tyres we have now produce bad racing and the mandatory fuel drop is a solution to a problem that doesn't exist anymore, they need to get rid of it.

Here is a box. Make your car within this box.

Here is a box with parts and you have to use only these parts in the box. Make your car within this box.

The former is Capitalism and will have creativity, and if said creativity gives them an advantage in the long haul, so be it. The latter is Communism and will make everyone equal.

I think that is where Jam3s is going.

Eventually both formulas will suffer as the suppressed/ignorant/bloodsuckers will bring each system down.

I only just finished watching the round today. Giz said on air that both the Holdens and Fords are difficult to follow now (due to the undertrays or something like that). So it's not the parity itself that's the problem, but rather some elements of the aero used to achieve the parity.

Very true. We were talking to a DJRTP employee on Sunday and he said the lack of passing with the revised rules was surprising and disappointing to many. The soft tyres would be the go, but I wonder if they are concerned about a failure at Turn 8?

Well the cars are pretty even at Adelaide.

Both Crompton and Skaife are Bathurst Winners and have raced Ford and Holden plus other brands. They are entitled to their opinions. Not every viewer is so superbly informed on racing as several of you are.

This really has not much to do with the Superloop specifically. I though they did OK, but please take it elsewhere if you want to argue TV etc, commentators. You have a choice of dozens of relevant threads or you can start your own.

Hell, go for broke and start two.

What’s that got to do with my opinion “the cars are pretty even at Adelaide”?

i dare say he quoted the wrong post

Yep, sorry Troy.

Sorry, thought you thought I was taking the piss out of the commentators whom I have no problem with as I have a mute button if it gives me the ****s.

Holden leaving or something else?

I think crompo is an outstanding commentator. Balanced, concise and adds the perfect level of knowledge and enthusiasm. My wife, who rarely watches the races says he explains things in a way that is clear for the average punter but not patronising. I’ve got to agree. Skaife I could take or leave, and larko is just unfunny and talks too much. Sometimes his tech talk is interesting but mainly it’s just a waste of air time.
DJRford Posted - 24 Feb 2020 : 22:16:10
Crompo is fine by me but I'm getting sick of him referring to fans as "customers." It's not incorrect, but it is a little degrading to the fans I believe.

Er...why?

What do you mean, Err, why? During a ******* race he's crapping on about the usual boring **** he does. He then tries to be "entertaining" with some **** souvlakis and drink, or whatever the **** it was. How stupid can you be?

Who TF finds his **** interesting? Are the supercars demographic inbreds who dropped out at year 10? NO ******* wonder Holden have withdrawn Holden from Australia.

Gets way too enthusiastic about little things... I wish they'd let Crompo explain everything

Crompo is boring, and uses 20 words when 3 will do.

Crompoland, supercarsland, Adelaideland, while modulating the throttle. Neiland is just more eloquent than the other idiots on the coverage.

Getting rid of Rusty was the death knell for Supercars.

Pretty good weekend. Hard to tell after one round, but I think the parity is right. We had a good mix of Fords and Holdens up near the front. Appears as though Triple 8 were the best team over the course of the weekend, but yeah I think the cars are even.
