With the Saturday races at SuperSprint [now Super400] events growing from 120km to 200km, the Albert Park races will be the only ones all season where pitstops are purely tyre changes.

Teams have 16 hards and 16 softs to use across the weekend, with softs compulsory for qualifying. Two pre-marked sets are also allowed for practice.

Jeez, that's tough, and there are thousands just like you. I'm sorry that what should have been a great experience ended that way. Still, it looks like you're being positive, which is the best - probably the only way to handle it. Here's hoping this corona virus pandemic ends soon and things improve for all of us.

So far we've been to the zoo and the aquarium and seen so many F1 and Supercars shirts/hats/jumpers etc.

It was to be my first GP experience so I'm really disappointed that it has ended this way. Never even got to see an F1 car on track live. Guess I'll have to wait another year. We had this trip booked for 8 months, I'm sure I can wait another 12...

Not since the mid-2000s has that been the case. In Melbourneís case, FOM has done the feed since 2003, the last local TV feed was Channel 9 in 2002, when the Aussie rights went to Ten for 2003 F1 took the filming over

I think Monaco was the last F1 race that did it itself? Nowadays anyway, FOM films all the races.

still no reason it couldn't have gone ahead though. our local guys could have stepped in today and been ready to go tomorrow I would have thought. a 2 day meet would have been workable for the supports with no track time required for the f1 circus (and the obnoxious amount of downtime associated with them)

Nup once one person got done in the paddock thatís it. Gotta nip it in the bud as much as you can

Not Supercars fault, but what a punk start to the 2020 series, almost forgot it had started 3 weeks ago.

If only they were smart enough to get one race out of the way on Thursday.

EDIT:
Looks like they could have gone ahead but F1 owns all the cameras and operators so the races wouldn't be televised. Sucks all round really.

It is not all bad news. Russell Ingall gets to keep his win record for another year.

Still going to a GP function tonight, will be a weird atmosphere. Still running that so I think Iíll go

The good news for supercars is that they can say they were legitimately the biggest class to be at Albert Park this weekend.

Well, that frees up the weekend a little!!

For now I'm tentatively saying yes, they will be recorded. I cannot think of a precedent in the ATCC/Supercars, but in MotoGP the 2018 British Grand Prix was cancelled after qualifying had taken place, and Lorenzo was still credited with a pole position.
