Well, long story short, today was a bit disappointing.
Managed to move forward in the pre-final but still had to start the final from 6th. It took me 15 of the 20 laps to work my way to 3rd. 2 scruffy laps meant I hadn't gotten away from the 2 behind me like had hoped and then it all turned sour.
It seems that the brake pedal isn't very favoured amongst the SRSH field and I was taken out with 3 laps to the finish. He went in too hot and punted me off. He, also, run over me. When we stopped, I pushed his kart off and finished the race a lonely 7th.
Also, the lap before I took 3rd the guy in-front flicked me the bird. Part of the reason I forced my way through 3 corners later.
So much pace, so little reward. That sentance best sums up my weekend. That's racing.

Looking At Getting Into Karting

Hey guys im looking at getting into karting and have been for 10years+ just havent had the money i now have a job and saving for it.

I want to get into clubman Heavy and looking at getting a 2nd hand kart for my first but can anyone please give me rough price range?

And i am having a blast driving it, they are way more fun than they look [:D]

I was looking at buying the chassis because they are cheap ($2000 vs. $4000-$5000 for the Australian and European brands) but the dealer told me it wouldn't be suitable for the level of racing I do! That the frame is a bit weak and slow! If the dealer says that, then it must be true.
So we'll have to wait and see how the production models go. They should be hitting tracks soon, unless there has been some sort of hold up.

RIP Frank Cesnick - ARC Engines

Passed away suddenly 14/7/07

Many condolences to Marcie & family.

Frank was a rough diamond with his heart in the right place, unfortunately the AKA didnt want to share his vision and worked him over too many times.

My son & I were supporters of Franks from day 1 of the ARC evolution of engines from the earliest Air Cooled to the revolutionary Watercooled.

It is and was such a shame that the best performance & value for money engine package ever produced was never given the recognition and acclaim that it deserved.

What made it even harder to swallow for Frank was that it was designed and built by an Australian company for Australian karters BUT largely shunned by them as well.

Rest in Peace Frank knowing that you had tried & tried & tried again and never stopped trying to help Australian Karting but still had your heart broken, you were a good bloke.

Thanks Shazza and Sonic, however the Amon nic is very appropiate most of the time ;) I'll be trying hard though, thats for sure....
