Norm and his brother Doug built Avalon Speedway in the 70's when the Speedway at Torquay closed down.

Doug passed away many years ago and Norm was still seen at Avalon regularly keeping an eye on his and Doug's Children and Grand Children as well as the rest of us who run Avalon these days.

Norm was always up for a chat and I will miss hearing his stories about some of his exploits from the old days of Speedway.

He had been coming to Darwin in the family car for our Chariots of Thunder series since he was 16. Always had good speed but showed he had a lot to learn. Unfortunately this year the normal speedway politics intervened and we didn't have a 410 on track. Hopefully this year we will get the politics out of the way as there a few guys talking of doing speedweek next year. Crosses fingers as I am one of them if we go.[:D]

Jordyn Brazier, son of Garry will make his sprintcar debut this season at Parramatta, running a practice in September, then first race in October. Car will be a J&J believed to be #NSW 58.

Joey Saldana will be racing for Rod Bowen over xmas period, also will be racing the Classic.

David Murcott looks to be racing for Dave Horrell again, around QLD & Victoria, guessing he will drive for Downings in SA when time permits.

Trevor Green, pretty much racing SA, NSW & Vic, plus the titles in QLD.
