I wasnt surprised in the least to see Mac and Pedersen pinged for engine related offences.
I saw Mac's car on the back straight at Taupo, even before Scott had his little whiney speech, and thought there was something wrong with that picture.

And I wouldn't be surprised to see Foggy's name come up either. He is NOT implicated in any of this yet, don't get me wrong, but the performances of the aforementioned cars compared against the rest of the field really did beg the question: why are they so fast?

Good on ya Johnny

I love that comment too. I reckon they should check out ol' Kayne Scott too, becuase if my suspisions are correct he was been fiddling with his too. Think about it, he waits untill the 2nd to last rouond then he kicks up a stink on national tele saying about the engines and thats when all this started.

Johnny Mac I believe is innocent and Pederson is the one they should be pointing the finger at. Does anyone agree with me?

No. I don't, because something there wasn't right. The straight line speed differential in the two rounds concerned left me wondering what was going on before this all came out. It may have only amounted to one or 2 km/h but thats enough. Scott was only effective on the corners, which is one area where Holden does have an edge in this series.
Johnny may not have been aware of what was going on - it's so easy to blame the drivers for these things.
But there is that saying about those being without sin casting the first stone too.
I'm not one of the guys that jump up and demand parity in these things - the exact opposite in fact. Ford and Holden has strengths in different areas.
I guess we'll see over this weekend whether or not it does make a difference, because you can bet every engine on the grid at Pukekohes going to be as legal as.

The final appeal in the drawn out New Zealand V8 championship engine saga has been thrown out.

A Motorsport Court of Appeal has heard the latest case over the past 24 hours, but has upheld the fine and points deduction, so the penalties against John McIntyre and Paul Pederson will stand.

Meanwhile, officials are to look into fresh allegations against some illegal testing by new V8 championship leader Kayne Scott.

It would probably be easier to announce the 2006 winner as Wade Henshaw, on the grounds that he definitely didn't do anything wrong this season...
