I recently bought Red Hot Chili Peppers - By The Way,
Nirvana - Nirvana (Can't see why we have to play for it, what is Kurt gunna do with the money? , that a bad attitude)
and Robbie Williams - Greatest Hits for My Mother!

Last 6

My Chemical Romance
Amber Cashel
Panic at the Disco
John Denver
Rammstein
Him (which is pretty impressive I might add, quite surprising)

It appears to me you might have a split personality bengatta! That's quite a varied mix!

That is only a mild variation this time... I will never forget the look n the chicks face once when I bought Frank Sinatra & Eminem (MMLP) at the same time. She looked, looked again, and in the end I mentioned, No they are both for me...

These days I usually pick 5, then let the chick pick the last one, so I get something I am not expecting, or usually heard about... On the last occasion, it was P@TD... Although I had heard of them...

Life is too short to not learn something new each day...

I looked thru the CD set recently, and realised I am missing a good Tom Petty Album. That will make the next 6 for sure...

Any suggestions for the other 5 will be greatly appreciated... there are some ones on this topic so far that I have not heard of yet, so I will check them out for sure...

If only it was acceptable to change women like we change music styles hey... life would be grand indeed

Definately have a look at Starky, saw them as a support band at The Killers, they were quite good and worth the buy.

Har Mar Superstar definitely wouldn't go down well with the people who go to RHCP concerts but the band chose him, definitely an acquired taste but I don't mind his music

It would be kind of like Kamahl opening for Metallica or something...

I don't buy many CD's for personal use nowadays, only CD's for my DJ business, got given the new Cold Chisel tribute album 'Standing On The Outside' yesterday and not overly impressed, some interesting remakes on there but some utter **** on there as well

Yeah, but you can download all your CDs onto iTunes and delete what you don't like, make your own playlists for the iPod and then shuffle the lot.
Mrs Pony has her p[laylist spun off from mine and both are spun off the main list (she doesn't like half my stuff and I don'l like some of hers).
We also have a bunch of ballads to help me sleep on planes (I do a lot of flying) and we have one for "other purposes".

Wouldn't mind Tom Morello's upcoming solo album, always been a fan of his guitar work in RAGE and Audioslave.

I just bought Year Zero, by Nine Inch Nails last Saturday. The album is amazing, and while you'd expect that comment from someone who's a massive fan of the band (check sig), I do genuinely mean it. It's different to anything else out there right now. It's dark, upbeat, dancy, angry, subtle, touching and meaningful all in the one unit. Great concept behind it, driven by an excellent viral marketing effort across the net. Don't be fooled though by the somewhat shallow term of 'marketing' - because it is essential to fully immersing one's self in the album's concept. It is the artwork. Concept is similar in nature to Orwell's 1984, but told through music and the internet.

Thoroughly recommend it to all the computer nerds on this site - you'll enjoy both the album and the concept.

In fact, this year is like a return of all the great '90's Goth/Rock/Metal bands for us fans who have been dissatisfied with the music scene of the last few years. Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead, Marilyn Manson, Smashing Pumpkins, Korn and Ministry. When you add to that another album from great band, Queens of the Stone Age, this year is gonna be a ripper for those of us still living in the mid-to-late nineties!
