Unfortunatelty it is not ideal, but its the way it is. Cricket umpires make a wrong decision that swings a game, a football umpire fails to give the correct 50m penalty and kangaroos lose a game, a soccer ref gives a penalty for handball and a team wins the game when a draw should have been the result.

Cricket has the 'thrid umpire' and various fotball codes have a 'video referee.' My point is that mistakes DO happen, but you DON'T have to live with it. These sports have evolved to allow technology to assist the officials. I know we now have the TEGA cameras in every car, but their use could probably be expanded.

More stringent penalties would definately be required for those who contest an issue and are found to be still guilty, but overall I think this is a good suggestion.

seriously i think that even those of us here who have the bluest or redest persuasion would still do a better job than what we have on most occasions... and those of us who sit back and enjoy it as a racing spectacle without the tinted eyes could make everyone happy 99% of the time... but then it wouldn't take too much to improve on where we are...

I think the drive through penalty is way to severe for any offence. If you jump a start by just a tiny margin you have trundle through the pits at 40Km/h and you’re at the back of the pack. Drive throughs and stop goes were ok when there was no pit lane speed limit. You’d come in, blast through the pits and come out the other side having done the time for the crime. These days the penalty is just ridiculous. What’s the solution? I don’t know. The only idea I can come up with is having a safe designated area at each circuit where a “Stop-go” can be safely performed. It’s a much fairer penalty.
Just a thought.

Today I drove a Lamborghini LP560-4 from Stanwell Tops to Wollongong. Now THAT is a Supercar! (2/11/2013)

That would be because we are all race fans first and foremost and lets not forget that, I don't like how VESA don't listen and then expect ever increasing ticket sales and viewers. Seems a bit arrogant to me.

I think this is a great Idea. It needs to be looked at to see if there is not a better way of handing out punishments. If say a guy changing a whell rolls a wheel nut into the fast lane then whoever the driver was has his race ruined with a drive through. When he has done nothing wrong himself. That is just one example of I think a unfair punishment being handed out. Its about time the system changed. Might even liven up dull racing abit.

what would be so hard about radioing a driver who has jump started and say 'you have to drop 5 positions below your grid position'... you could make it a bit more stiff if it was a big jump....
