I made mention of it.You're right,Ambrose is a goldmine when it comes to sponsors as he has a personality. The TV and radio people like interviewing him.You rarely see Hornish Jr get interviewed.
I couldn't be bothered going back and looking but it does make a certain amount of sense. My mate said the story is really starting to gather momentum. |

| I would have to agree with you there I could see Ambrose in the #77 Penske Racing but I Think Ambrose should be better off in the RPM Ford |

Anyone have any ideas on if the RPM deal is a step up? I try to watch races when i can, but apart from Hendrick, Rouch Fenway, Joe Gibbs etc. im not sure where other teams stand in the scheme of things. Is RPM a step up from JTG? Their currnet drivers..... Khane 16th, Allmendinger 22nd, Menard 23rd, Sadler 29th..... arent that much further ahead (if at all) in the standings as Ambrose in 26th. I was hoping RPM might be able to get Ambrose into regular top 10's, but going by the existing drivers there, that might not be possible.
Can anyone with a bit knowledge on Nascar give me a bit more of an insight?
Apparently a sponsor and driver is due to be announced at RPM today (US time). |

Khane has definitely shown good speed at most races throughout 2010.
I cant say much for the driving ability of Menard and Sadler but The Dinger seams to be getting better in a Nascar with every outing.
Bare in mind that this is RPM's first year with Roush/Yates Ford Power i think they are doing a reasonable job.
With time i'm sure RPM and Roush will build a closer relationship then they already have and im sure they will move up the grid further then JTG are capable of at this point in time. |

Marcos Ambrose and Richard Petty Motorsports are making an announcement tomorrow 1pm EST. (3AM AEST)
Could this mean that Ambrose will be in the #9 Budweiser Ford in 2011? Would be a great ride for him! |

Won't be the Budweiser Ford but probably the Stanley Tools Ford. |

The RPM team isn't doing so bad when you look at the big picture. 1. They've moved their shop from Statesville NC to Concord NC. 2. The mergers and buyouts, Yates Racing and Foster Gillete. 3. The manufacturer switch from Dodge to Ford
These are major moves in an organization over a short period of time.
Bonehead move goes to Elliott Sadler for broadcasting he was going to sue RPM to keep his job and now wonders what they aren't discussing extending his contract. He may end up driving for a start and park team.
Let's hope with the addition of Marcos to RPM and his great relationship with Ford will enhance the performance of the entire team.
I believe that there will more news coming from the RPM camp in regards to sponsors/drivers in the next couple of weeks.
I don't think JTGD will improve in 2011 with Bobby Labonte. |

I agree with you Rose about JTGD next year. As bad a year as they have been having, I believe that if it weren't for Marcos, their year would be a lot worse. With him out of the equation (and making the average equipment look better), I think they will be well down the back all the time. |

Will Marcos see the year out in the #47 JTGD Toyota ?
Red Bull have a spare seat for Khane. NASCAR Teams like to start the year running, so don't be surprised to see Marcos in the #9 Ford this season.... |

in response and sgreement to the above discussion on JTGD and Labonte - I think it's almost possible to say Ambrose has exceeded Labonte's abilities. Certainly not in Bobby's prime - but these days, for sure Ambrose has his measure. And Labonte doesn't give them 2 certain top 5's a year. |

I don't think there's been any comparison with Labonte at his prime. It's all about the here and now. |
