All Australian males out after the first round.

Tomic had a brain explosion and was booed off court

At least Sam Stosur got up

Unfortunately he's a silver spoon kid.

Dads been running around after him for years and you only have to look at how young Bernard was trying to flaunt the law regarding his bright orange BMW that he wasn't permitted to drive under QLD law

Sad dday for Aussie tennis.

I blame all the incompetents running the show.
All these artificial surfaces have ruined the players and the premium Australian open surface is that rebound ace garbage.

With all the natural grass courts long gone and even all the clay, antbed and granite courts gone all the modern surfaces play to true.

It's no coincidence that most of the top player are coming from places that still have natural surfaces to play on

Na, you cant blame the surface col, it just gets down to being lazy. You hit the nail on the head though when you say Tomic has the silver spoon in his mouth. Have a few guys close to his corner and there are some really bad signs. Also, There are Aussie juniors all over the world playing and training on all surfaces, so these days we have the same opportunities as anyone else in the world

Our juniors go well till they hit seniors simply because they are lazy and dont train hard enough when compared to the overseas guys. They all hit the ball well, but at that level you are talking about doing the extra 1%s really well, and our guys dont.

The future.......In the guys the cupboard will be bare for a few years yet, Our woman will be the same, Barty is too small and wont compete at the very top level.

The fact is, tennis in Australia is PLAYED at a high level buy people who have a lot of money and can afford to travel, while its being RUN by a boys club who spend and waste money on all sorts of things. Just one example of the waste in money from TA in melbourne, I have a wheelchair player that frequents our centre, and he has 3 guys that "look after him" from Melbourne. He approached them (TA) for funding to help get him overseas and while they suck up over $300,000 in funding in their pay packages, they offered him a piddling $2500. Barely enough to get him and his chair overseas, let alone being able to survive for any length of time.

Yo have no idea how frustrating they are to deal with now. They have taken over the coaching courses and have priced themselves out of the market. The next big story for Australian tennis in the next 10-15 years will be a lack of quality coaches. you read it here first !!

OT......Was glad to see Fed win his 17th Major. His SF against Djokevic was a great match.

Im fat because every time i shag your missus she gives me a cookie!

Yep. Spot on

RIP05

_Mholden

RIP LJ - loved and never forgotten.

"It was dry for the second go-around. Grice, nervous, worrying about his Bathurst jinx, ran 2:25.9. The amazing Brock, using every last centimetre of bitumen, yet keeping the car straight and balanced and at full noise, came back with a staggering 2:20.0 as if to say: "Match that". And people just shook their heads, bit their lips and wondered who would be second".

The Peter Brock trophy is now where it belongs.
