they have been making big noises about "coward's punch" down here in Vic and how one hit can kill... this was a single punch in a much more compressed impact at maybe 140kmh?

we are very lucky to have him here at all.

Putting Clarkey's injury aside, really good day of cricket and I am sure wherever Phillip Hughes was watching it from he would have appreciated it too.

To respond to Bruce in the NRL thread: it is probably the single hardest loss I have had to deal with at Souths to lose Bully. Much worse than Sam Burgess as he didn't symbolise Souths as Bully did. I think a lot will underestimate just how much a loss he will be to Souths but I fully understand how engrossed he is with NZ and I think given that he will make the successful transition that others haven't.

Yep, Aussies are doing Phil proud.

Warner 145, Smith currently 142* and Clarke 109* despite suffering an injury yesterday.

Rain has interrupted play all day today.

Great stuff to watch.

RIP LJ - loved and never forgotten.

"It was dry for the second go-around. Grice, nervous, worrying about his Bathurst jinx, ran 2:25.9. The amazing Brock, using every last centimetre of bitumen, yet keeping the car straight and balanced and at full noise, came back with a staggering 2:20.0 as if to say: "Match that". And people just shook their heads, bit their lips and wondered who would be second".

The Peter Brock trophy is now where it belongs.

Bloody rain made it a difficult day to watch and for the guys playing to get into a rhythm but Smith and Clarke batted extremely well.
A hell of a lot of concentration went into making their day.

What about the ump and his comments - very funny!

India almost have the opposite scorecard to Australia. Australia had three big scorers, with the rest (other than Marsh) not getting many, while all the Indian batsmen have gotten a start but only one has gone on to a century.

Unless Australia can bowl India out by lunch time tomorrow I see this game ending in a draw.

Edit - Sean Abbott has taken 6/14 in the Sheffield Shield. Good to see.

Well it's all set up for a sensational final day! I was a bit confused by how slow the scoring rate was after tea. Australia could have been well over 400 in front.

Hilarious when that Indian muppet gave Warner a send off only for him to be recalled after they found it to be a no ball

Yes he does mate. And you want him on your side especially at the moment where he's averaging around 100 in his last 10 tests!

David Warner is the Michael Ennis of Cricket. I love his competitive, combative style. It appears to be working for him.
