Starting the official Olympics thread for those tuning in to watch it.
I'm quietly confident about our chances of doing well, especially in the team sports but mindful of a few great athletes that aren't competing at the games for one reason or another.
Anyway, it should be interesting and all consuming stuff with Channel 7 having 3 dedicated channels for it.
So many sports I am looking forward to watching.

Just on the Horton v Yang feud, Yang and China really need to suck it up and just accept that they aren't going to get a free ride if you test positive to taking performance enhancing drugs and then serve a suspension. They are the ones that have opened themselves up to criticism and if they don't like it that it was done on this stage well that's too bad. |

Thought I'd just mention that Australia won the Gold in the women's Rugby Sevens. Not sure who they played but I'm sure the Undertaker will tell me! |

Yep 8 vs 7 help's LG. Seen the pic?
Dropped the ball, landed short, and the ref from that powerhouse of rugby, Spain, accepted the cheque and said "yep, close is ok by me"
Just another classic act from the "best" Olympics ever.

Looks like the NZ team believed their own hype and it bit them in the arse. This is heading for a disastrous games for us, sick and tired of teams and individuals who say they have trained hard for 4 years to then produce crap results.
Good on the Japanese, they deserved to win today.
And don't mention Sunny William Williams, a has been who never was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Farking hopeless, and I don't care about the marker. Truth hurts.
And now we see the end result.
Over hyped, underperformed, and now back over here! |
