News today that Australian cricketer Max Walker passed away. Contributed a lot to the game both on the field and off it. He will be truly missed. I particularly remember him fondly not for his playing days but for his time as co-host of Wide World of Sports on Saturday afternoons. RIP.

Well said - sums up the hypocrisy of LG and the fordies -

One of life's gentleman. Sad news.

A nice little tribute here by Billy Birmingham. I remember after the 12th man, I would watch Wide World of Sports and he'd come back from an ad break with a giant "yeeeeesssss". Would always giggle.

RIP LJ - loved and never forgotten.

"It was dry for the second go-around. Grice, nervous, worrying about his Bathurst jinx, ran 2:25.9. The amazing Brock, using every last centimetre of bitumen, yet keeping the car straight and balanced and at full noise, came back with a staggering 2:20.0 as if to say: "Match that". And people just shook their heads, bit their lips and wondered who would be second".

The Peter Brock trophy is now where it belongs.
