Hope he kills it over there

RIP LJ - loved and never forgotten.

"It was dry for the second go-around. Grice, nervous, worrying about his Bathurst jinx, ran 2:25.9. The amazing Brock, using every last centimetre of bitumen, yet keeping the car straight and balanced and at full noise, came back with a staggering 2:20.0 as if to say: "Match that". And people just shook their heads, bit their lips and wondered who would be second".

The Peter Brock trophy is now where it belongs.

As much as Iím not a fan of Penske (or those funny looking cars that race over here with blue badges) I reckon ScoMac is a legend and Iíd love to be able to cheer him on as he flies the flag for us Aussies... heís adopted as an Aussie now right??

It appears as though they have to leave NZ and come to Aussie land to make it...

Fantastic! Good on him.
Will the events results either open/close doors to go full-time in 2021?

Either way, for him to even get a gig is a massive kudos.

I notice that Brisbane born, Scott Dixon is claimed by NZ'ers.

Let's face it Scott is an international driver who lives in Australia and races in an Australian series.

maybe Scott will continue to live in Australia and win the next three Australian Touring Car Championships, although I do wonder if Supercars will still be the car of choice for ATCC in three years.

Scott, like a number of other drivers, can continue here and take a swag of non-conflicting drives even further overseas.

Talent will out and i am sure that Scott will do well in whatever Roger puts him in.

Big difference though... Dixon has always labelled himself a Kiwi and uses our flag when his country of origin is on display at an event.

On the flip side, Russell Crowe labels himself an Aussie.
And I'm fine with that :P

So does Keith Urban.

Anyhow, I'm intrigued to see how he goes.

I know its only one race, but if he can match it with the kids like Colton Herta and Pato O'Ward, he could do very well for him self.

On the plus side, if he does go well, there could be some room for him in the Indycar side of the equation, as there doesn't seem to be a seat for him in NASCAR.

All in all it will be good to see him race a GM (holden) product and not a ford

I heard there will be a name change to the series next year, the new name is Penske mustang cup series with their major sponsor to be Laxative guarantee to clear any backing up at Bathurst 2020.

Roger Penske has commented a number of times that NASCAR Cup is too expensive and Indycar is very cheap by comparison.

Unless they significantly reduce costs, I would not be surprised to see Penske out of NASCAR Cup or running less cars when current contracts run out.

Indycar and Sports Cars would seem to be the future for drive chances.

That's not too hard, Ian, seeing the only competition he has over there is another Kiwi

Doubt it, Team Penske has been in NASCAR almost 50 years and he is not going anywhere soon.

Scotty is pissing away his talent here and will be competitive in almost anything in a reasonably short amount of time, perhaps it was Scottys choice to try open wheeler first.

50 years?!? Around 30 more accurately

Penske Racing South was only formed for the 1991 season, and Penskeís only previous NASCAR entries had been a few years with the AMC program in the mid-70s
