Marcos is on Speed TV with Mike Joy and Phil Parsons right now. The Denny Hamlin Short Track charity race is on.
Marcos has his MAM #91 with 15 year Ben Rhodes driving. There was a pile up on the first lap right behind Ben and Hamlin was caught up in it. Marcos spent about 10 - 15 minutes with Mike and Phil before they let go down and coach his driver.
Tony Stewart, Jeff Burton, Joey Logano, Kyle Busch are all racing in it.
How did Ben go rose????
Finished 6th I think. Not bad for a 15 yr old! |

| From reading forums, blogs and a few articles it appears to be looking more likely that the "Commodore" will be the new Nascar Chev. |

It didn't take RPM long to make a change.
A Dodge rep was on XM radio this week and wouldn't talk about which teams Dodge was trying to snag. The engine building portion is one of the major points. Would Penske continue to build Dodge engines? Time will tell.

Furniture Row has talked to Kurt Busch about second team:
#78-Furniture Row Racing general manager Joe Garone confirmed today that talks have taken place between the team and driver Kurt Busch, but said those conversations are not a result of dissatisfaction with the team's current driver, Regan Smith. "I have talked to Kurt Busch," said Garone, "but it was about a team we don't even have yet. We are working diligently on getting a second (Sprint Cup) car for next year, and I'm trying to get my hands around some of the guys that will be available going onto 2013. I wanted to make an introduction to Kurt, and just let him know what our plans are for the future." Garone said he believes Smith and Busch would make good teammates, saying, "Kurt and Regan have worked well together on the superspeedways in the past. They have drafted well together and talked well back and forth. Adding a second team would be a major boost for Furniture Row Racing, and we're all working hard to try and make that happen."
Fastenal to sponsor all 3 Roush cars in Coca-Cola 600:
Fastenal will sponsor all three Roush Fenway Racing entries in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 27. The Fastenal paint schemes for #99-Carl Edwards, #16-Greg Biffle and #17-Matt Kenseth will also incorporate the "NASCAR Unites - An American Salute" red, white and blue theme. This is not the first time Fastenal has sponsored the RFR fleet. Last year all three RFR Nationwide Series Fords displayed the Fastenal colors at the Charlotte race in May. The Blue Team placed first (Kenseth), second (Edwards) and fourth (Ricky Stenhouse Jr.)

Not so much news but a question.
Why doesn't Marcos have an Aussie flag beside his name on the car? As I don't think he has ever had one going right back to trucks, I can only assume it is something like superstition.
Apologies if it's been discussed somewhere else but I've been reading most NASCAR boards for years now and have never seen any discussion on it. |
