Yes.With no other chance to test the potential loss is greater than whatever might be gained by subterfuge.
Day 1 of testing and Max is playing with them.
Most interesting thing was that Horner and Newey were the only people in any team not wearing team uniform.

Lando wins the Miami GP, lucky with a safety car. Nonetheless great to see Lando take a win.
Ironically, it was a race which Oscar actually looked stronger.

Monaco! The jewel in the crown!

Thanks for a 76 lap driver's parade.

What a crock.

What a crock.

I notice that they seem to think F3 cars are too quick around Monaco for young drivers and plan on changing to the slower, less powerful, Euro versions.

I don't mind Monaco. It's one of the few tracks that you actually see the cars moving and get a genuine visual on how the drivers push, touching the barriers just so.
The race is usually meh, but just watching a single lap is awesome.

An idea I had for a potential layout change to aid overtaking: go around the roundabout at Portier and move the chicane from its current location closer to Tabac. Add a DRS zone after the tunnel and have a system where the driver in front must pick a lane 150m out from the chicane (they cannot just drive down the middle of the road).

The issue I can see is that with the extra speed, any sort of collision would result in a big accident and there is almost no run-off where the chicane would be.

alternative option using your "pick a lane" idea.

up the top of the hill (where Sainz pulled off on the first start)... there is a section of road where they have been darting right and then back left since forever... how about fix that bit of road so that it is flat? and give them DRS there too.

the leading car can pull right but has to stay there, following car with DRS can have a go but they'll be on the outside for the right hander down to the hairpin so will still need to work for it.

Change their red flag rules.  You can change tyres under red but said change does not count for your mandatory change.  THAT change has to be done while the cars are under green or yellow.

I've never liked it when they allowed cars to be wrenched under red.

absolutely! working on a car under red is a crock.

if it is for safety I have no issue with it on the proviso that on the first lap under green you must pit and serve a time penalty equivalent to the work you have done on the car.

eg if you changed a wing and took 15 seconds then you have to do a 15 second stop/go before rejoining the race.

I agree it the red flag is during the race/

My impression was that a red flag on the first lap negated the race with a full restart, just as if it had never happened.

yeah that was a farce. it should have either been a full restart (my thinking being that it was only really 1 corner of racing) or as you pulled back into the pits.

and on that... why did they pull into the pits and not stop on the grid?

The announcers were discussing during the Montreal race:  Sainz to Williams next year, replacing Sargent.  Ocon is gone from Renault, also.

Montreal usually turns on a good race. Was highly enjoyable to watch, even from 4am in the morning (thanks to the King and his Birthday).
It's not looking so straight forward for Max anymore. He'll win the Championship because he's still by far the most consistent driver, but race wins aren't looking so easy.
Between Lando and Charles, they mount a good challenge. Shame the Ferrari can't seem to do it week in, week out.

Max back to his old ways. That corner historically has always been one of interest.

Piastri isn't far from a win now, but he certainly isn't the lead at McLaren, hope he can turn that around.

The next Tetris block has fallen into place for 2025.  Oliver Bearman to Haas to replace Nico.  Hopefully this will get Ferrari to give Haas the "good stuff".   :D
