He's the deserving winner.

Agree. Hope it's close, but Kostecki must be going for close to a record of most laps led...at least in the more recent past.

Mwhahaha....He's going to DJR next year.  ;D

Let's hope they sort those cars out. It's so fun watching Brodie race. Would be a shame if it was at the back of the 10 next year.

We have parity*. With Brodie's setup ability, should be a no brainer.

Yeh, agree with that. He's special. We'll lose him in a few years to an overseas series.

Did Riana just say that Reynolds needs to come in for a splash and dash? Has this team not learnt from last year?

Good luck Anton.

Brodie Kostecki  and (who would have guessed) Todd Hazelwood are Bathurst Champions! Lead start to finish.

Well done is an understatement.

When was the last time someone lead every lap of the race?

Last ones I remember are Murphy and Kelly 2004

How about #1 and #88, their fastest laps of the race were lap 142.

Other things, I don't recall seeing the Feeney car do a brake change. Did they?

Quote from: AlbertM on October 09, 2024, 07:15:37 PMA Camaro is going to win. They have the luxury of numbers and parity stability. Not to mention Camaro has the legs on the straights. Ford teams are once again chasing a setup that will work. If the engine doesn't detonate, 25 is the only Ford capable of taking it right to the end.

Almost called it. 6 got to the end as well.

Hit me up for this weeks lotto numbers.  ;)  ;D  8)

Kostecki/Hazelwood did not quite lead every lap...157 laps led as Brown/Pye led 4 laps during the first four pit stop phases. The last car to lead every lap of the race was Johnson/Bowe in 1989. Certainly the first car to hold the effective lead at the end of every lap since then.

It is the highest number of laps led in the last 30 years - Whincup/Dumbrell led 133 in 2016 and Lowndes/Murphy led 129 in 1996.

I missed the start and slept through most of it... but what I saw was good racing with minimal interference... they did try to cock it up with the SC but their 'cunning plan my lord' did not work.

Well done to Kos/Haz and the Erebus crew on a stellar performance. To lead 157 out of 161 laps is way beyond what anyone would have expected of any leader in this age.

Disappointed about the Murray error under SC... how do you not hear to drop your speed and a 15 second countdown and still be 60k over the expected speed? doubt they would have made top 5 but to do that when you were 7th is not good enough and cost them 7 places with the penalty.

6 Chev, 4 Ford in the top 10 and only 33 seconds from 1st to 10th after 6 hours and only 1 safety car is a bloody good effort by all. 20 cars on the lead lap is also a mighty effort. Glad no mechanical gremlins for the blues after the Sandown mishaps.

I don't think it was that great a race and even without the safety car, it was possible for Broc to reel Brodie in with the aid of lapped cars. Whether he could pass him, we will never know.

If it wasn't for that safety car, and the comedy of errors that was the trophy relay, it would've been rather boring.
